What does a session look like?

After a quick check in, I’ll step out of the room and have you prepare for the session.

You can undress completely, or you can leave on your underwear, whatever’s comfortable for you.

I’ll have you start face up on the table under the top sheet and blanket, making yourself comfortable and I’ll be back in a minute. I’ll knock before I enter.

In these sessions we consult your MindBody in deciding what to focus on through neuromuscular biofeedback. We allow the session to be guided in alliance with the body’s natural healing sequence.

I usually tune into the neck and shoulders first, because they’re a great indicator of the body’s current state of nervous system response.

I then use the muscle checking to bring in new perspectives of focus. This looks like a light pulling on your wrist. The body works with simple yes and no feedback, kind of like the hot and cold game or twenty questions.

Through a series of feedback questions we can put together a new perspective on how to address the body through massage, but more importantly we allow neurological connections to shape the way the mind is sending and receiving information to and from the body.

These connections are updated through a light tapping technique over the head and heart synchronizing communication. I always like to say, “We’re interrupting your regularly scheduled program for a very important message. “

When the MindBody is aware of new information that’ll serve you best, it always moves in that direction because it’s tasked with keeping you in homeostasis, or balance.

Because the body is only willing to do what the mind will allow, it’s imperative to get them on the same team before we apply any effort in treating the symptoms that are a result of this disconnection.

Once this happens, you can literally feel the tension melt away and stay away.
